6 months old

Our big boy is 6 months old already!!! He weighed 19.4lbs (75-90%) and was 28 inches long( >95%) at his 6 month check-up! I wish time would slow down. I don't want either of my kids to grow up so fast. Luke is doing great! He's almost sitting up without assistance, scooting wherever he wants to go, and loving new foods!! I think one of my favorite parts of the day is when Luke and I go get Madison out of bed in the mornings! His face LIGHTS UP when he sees her each day!! It warms my heart!! He just loves his big sister!

First Day of Preschool

Okay....we did it! Or should I say I did it!! I'm not going to lie, I woke up sick to my stomach. All morning I kept thinking I'm going to back out and keep her home with me. I wasn't sure I was ready for this school thing and her being away from me. I must admit I have a REAL hard time leaving my babies. They've only been left with both grandparents, church nursery, and the gym daycare. THAT'S IT! No babysitters or friends. I have a hard time being away and letting go. Sad, I know.

I haven't talked a ton about school in the last few days because I was afraid if I made to big of a deal it would make it harder on her. We've been about 5 times for playgroups, ice cream socials, and orientation at her school so she is familiar with the building. Every time we've driven by she shouts, "MOM, MY SCHOOL!" That has made me feel better but you still never know how your kid is going to do when the time actually comes to be left. Well, she did GREAT! She held my hand until we got close to the room then she let go as if she was excited, eager and a BIG GIRL. When she walked in she saw a few friends from gymnastics and play dough on the tables so she was good to go! Of course, I took a few pictures and said bye. She had no problem with me leaving. Made me feel good and bad! :) As I walked to the car, I put my glasses on so no one could see the tears coming out. Can't believe she's old enough to be in preschool!!!! It was weird driving away. The entire time, I looked at the clock wondering what she was doing and wondering if she was having fun, scared, missing me, and behaving. I was a little early picking her up because I was so eager to hear how the day went. She looked POOPED when I saw her but she said she had fun and wanted to go back! YAY!! :) Took her 5 minutes when we got home to fall asleep for nap.

So....I guess we are actually doing this school thing!!! A new chapter starts today!!! I'm so proud she's such a big brave girl!!! I'm looking forward to watching her grow this year!!! God has truly blessed me more than I could imagine. I'm one lucky mom!

Oh, it will be nice to have mommy and Luke time on Tuesday and Thursday's. :)
