Renewal of Vows

For our 5 year anniversary, I thought it would be fun to renew our vows in Vegas at an Elvis Chapel. When I get the pictures with Elvis, I'll have to add them.

Las Vegas

For our 5 year anniversary, John and I went to Las Vegas. Even thought we didn't win big, we had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the trip.

Natalie's Wedding

John's dad

Unfortunately, John's dad lives in Oklahoma and we were not able to make a trip to tell him in person. Hopefully, this August we will get a chance to go and visit. After about 4 phone calls, we were able to get in touch with his dad and share the news. His dad and Teresa were SO excited. I was sitting next to John while he talked to them and I could hear their excitement through the phone. Here's a pic of John telling his dad!! :) Can you tell I'm excited? I even take pictures of him on the phone ! LOL!

Sharing the news with John's family

Hurray! We finally were able to make a trip to Center, Texas to share our news with John's family. They have been on a vacation since June 5th, so we made the trip as soon as they got home. We didn't even give them a chance to be home but a few hours before we arrived. I've been dying to share the news.

Since John's mom is having surgery this coming Tuesday, we decided to buy her a gift to help her have a speedy recovery. John and I bought a baby bib that said, "If mommy says no, ask grandma." I'm not sure she believed us when she first opened it!

Saturday morning we woke up and were able to tell his cousin, grandparents and uncle. It was pretty exciting to see all their reactions. It feels so nice to finally have gotten to tell all the family.

Kristi and I

So, my best friend Kristi and I decided about 5 years ago that we would wait till we were 28 and try and get pregnant together. Well, this past December we decided as soon as our annual ski trip in February was over we were going to both start trying. We were determined to be pregnant together! I remember Monday, February 23rd when my phone rang and Kristi was freaking out. She had taken a home pregnancy test and it showed positive. I was so excited for her! The next afternoon, I drove over to her house to see the tests! Sure enough, she was pregnant! I told myself not to stress out and that it would happen for John and I when it was suppose to. On Friday, March 13th Kristi had her first appointment. I was in Louisiana at the time. As soon as she got out she called me! I could barely understand her. She was in shock! She had just found out she was having TWINS!!! She had always thought it might happen to hear because she had twins in her family. Well, the next couple months passed and she keep asking if it had happened to me. I think she was starting to feel alone and overwhelmed. Luckily, another one of our friends found out she was pregnant so Kristi now felt she had someone to talk to. When the time finally came to tell her, she was so excited!! Our plan worked and we are only 7 weeks apart. Kristi's due date is set for November 1st! This is going to be such an exciting journey because I have someone to talk to about all the changes and emotions that I'm going through. She will completely understand! We are truly blessed that it was so easy for both of us!
